Undercover audit · Mystery Shopper
What do your guests really experience when you're not there?
I walk into your hotel, restaurant or business as just another customer — no advance notice, and no one knows who I am. Then I sit down with you, face to face, and deliver a management-level diagnosis with concrete solutions. Not a checklist: the eye of a General Manager with more than 30 years of experience.
I take on a limited number of visits each week. Complete confidentiality.
The difference
A typical mystery shopper tells you what happened. I tell you why — and how to fix it.
Most mystery shopping programs send generic evaluators with a form. They're good for ticking boxes. If you need to understand why your service is slipping and what to do on Monday morning, you need someone who has actually run the operation.
Typical mystery shopping program
Generic evaluator
- Hired per visit, with no operations background
- Standard yes / no questionnaire
- Automated report sent by email
- Flags symptoms, not root causes
- You're left to interpret it and decide

What I evaluate
Every touchpoint, start to finish.
Each visit is tailored to your operation. These are the moments I typically observe in a hotel, restaurant or service business.
First contact
Phone, WhatsApp, booking or social media: speed, tone, information and follow-through.
Arrival & welcome
Greeting, wait times, first impression and team attitude.
Service in action
Product knowledge, suggestive selling, attention to detail and consistency.
Product & standards
The room, dish or service delivered versus what your brand promises.
Cleanliness & upkeep
Public areas, restrooms, rooms — the details customers do notice.
Problem handling
How your team responds to a special request or a real complaint.
Visible leadership
Supervisor presence, team climate, and how work gets done when no one is watching.
Check & farewell
Billing, timing, the final courtesy — and the reason (or not) to come back.
How it works
Four steps. All you have to do is hear the truth.
Confidential conversation
We talk on WhatsApp or in person: your business, your concerns and what you want to know. Only you will know about the visit.
Undercover visit
I arrive as a regular customer, on a day and time I choose within the window we agree on. No notice to staff.
Management report
A written report of what I observed, the likely causes and the recommended actions, ranked by priority.
Face-to-face debrief
I present the findings to you personally and answer your questions. No middlemen.
What you get
Insight you can act on the very next day.
- Written visit reportA full account of the experience, point by point — what works and what doesn't.
- Root-cause diagnosisWhether the issue is leadership, process, staffing structure or training.
- Prioritized action planWhat to fix first, what can wait, and how to communicate it to your team.
- Personal results meetingA face-to-face debrief with Jorge, for you and, if you wish, your manager.
- Complete confidentialityYour information and results stay between you and me.
Investment
No deposit, no upfront payment. You don't pay until you receive your report.
Final pricing depends on the type of business and the length of the visit (a restaurant is not the same as an overnight hotel stay). I confirm it with you before we start — no surprises.

Who it's for
For owners who'd rather hear the truth before they read it in a review.
Service area: Miami-Dade & Broward — Miami, Doral, Hialeah, Sweetwater, Westchester, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas. Other locations on request.
“I don't send an assistant or a third-party evaluator. I go myself, in person.”— JORGE VENEGAS, FOUNDER OF HOTELIER
Who makes the visit
I've served as General Manager and CEO of hotels in the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean. I've opened properties from the ground up, turned around struggling operations and developed hundreds of teams.
That's why I know what a guest notices in the first thirty seconds — and what a manager often can't see from the office. That's the perspective I bring to your business.
FAQ
What owners usually ask me.
Will my staff know a mystery shopper is coming?
No. Only you know the visit has been booked. We agree on a date window and I choose the day and time, so no one can prepare.
How is this different from other mystery shopping services?
It comes down to who makes the visit. Instead of a generic evaluator with a form, it's someone who has run hotels and led teams for more than 30 years. So the report doesn't just describe what happened — it explains why it happened and what to do about it.
Who pays for what I purchase during the visit?
Whatever needs to be purchased to evaluate the service (a meal, a hotel night, etc.) is agreed with you before the visit and is not part of the evaluation fee.
When will I get the results?
We set the delivery date for the report and the debrief meeting before the visit, so you know exactly when you'll have answers.
Can I book a follow-up visit?
Yes. Many businesses book a second visit after implementing changes, to measure progress through the same lens.
Do you work in Spanish?
Yes. I'm fully bilingual, so I can evaluate service in both English and Spanish and deliver the report in whichever language you prefer.
